Knight of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands.

I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • How the Knight of Wands symbolizes adventure, passion, and spontaneous movement

  • The double-fire energy of this court card and its connection to Sagittarius

  • Why breaking routines can be both liberating and destabilizing

  • The shadow side of impulsiveness and the desire to never feel stuck again

  • How to bring the spark of adventure back into your everyday life

  • The importance of integrating what we learn from travel, risk-taking, or creative leaps

Knight of Wands

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Knight of Wands is bold, passionate, and full of fire. This is the traveler of the tarot, ready to break free from monotony and leap into the unknown. Ruled by mutable fire and associated with Sagittarius, this card often shows up when we are craving motion, novelty, or creative breakthroughs. It celebrates courage, but also invites us to check our impulses—are we moving forward with purpose, or just trying to outrun discomfort?

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

Today's Tarot Pull:

Today’s pull was the Page of Swords, reversed, from The Sasuraibito Tarot by Stasia Burrington. This card reminds us to balance excitement with thoughtfulness. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of new ideas and changes, but we also need to stay grounded in our communication and mindful of how our choices ripple outward. Be bold, yes—but also be clear!

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • What sparks your curiosity right now?

  • Where are you craving more movement, freedom, or change?

  • Are you running toward adventure or away from discomfort?

  • What have your recent travels or risks taught you about yourself?
