Page of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands.

I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • Symbols of flame, passion, and creative curiosity

  • What it means to embrace beginner energy with courage and wonder

  • The Page of Wands as a messenger of inspiration and youthful enthusiasm

  • How sensuality, pleasure, and imagination shape this card across decks

  • The difference between comparison and aspiration when you are still learning

  • Why your “what if” dreams matter more than you think

Page of Wands

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Page of Wands is your inner spark asking for your attention. It is the part of you that gets lit up when you talk about something you love, when you see someone doing what you long to do, or when you daydream about a path that feels just out of reach.

This card is about possibility. It invites you to let yourself be led by curiosity and enthusiasm rather than hesitation or self-doubt.

We explore themes of desire, creativity, first awakenings, and reclaiming childlike joy. The Page of Wands reminds us that the path does not have to be clear before we take the first step. All we need is a willingness to start.

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Desert Illuminations Tarot, I pulled the Five of Jugs Upright.

This card represents emotional setbacks or moments when something did not turn out the way you hoped. You might be focused on what's been spilled—the broken jugs, the mess, the feelings that are hard to hold.

It invites you to honor your feelings of grief and disappointment while gently reminding you that something is still salvageable. Usually, two upright jugs remain in the background, a symbol that not everything is lost even if your attention is stuck on what hurts.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • What are you afraid to want?

  • What would you do if you believed you could not fail?

  • How can you tend the spark of creativity even in seasons of doubt?
