Six of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands.

I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • Symbolism across decks: flames, flowers, radiant light, ruby red jewels, and ornamental adornment

  • The journey from chaos in the Five of Wands to triumph in the Six

  • Jupiter in Leo and what it means to be seen as a leader or center of attention

  • Why celebrating yourself might feel uncomfortable or triggering for those taught to downplay their gifts

  • The subtle shadow of this card when success leads to overwork or chasing external validation

In this episode, we’re looking at the Six of Wands. This card celebrates triumph, confidence, and the joy of being seen.

Let's explore the symbolism of public recognition, the complexity behind our ideas of success, and what it means to own your gifts without apology. We'll also reflect on how the Six of Wands sits between the conflict of the Five and the pressure of the Seven.

Are you chasing a feeling of victory without checking in on your values? Or are you finally being celebrated for who you truly are?

The Six of Wands is a reminder to celebrate your wins, own your story, and honor how far you’ve come… a gentle but powerful invitation to let yourself be witnessed in your brilliance, and to consider what success means on your own terms!

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom, I pulled the King of Cups, which in this deck is labeled “Balance.”

The reflective prompts on this card are:

  • What three things do you wish were true?

  • What gives your life meaning?

  • How do you connect to something bigger than yourself?

This card asks us to pair our confidence with groundedness. To lead from our values. To shine brightly because we are anchored in what matters most.
